
The recently released NI 43-101 Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for District Metals’ Viken Project in Sweden highlights the important role of the MobileMT survey completed by Expert Geophysics in 2025. The airborne survey covered approximately 2,350 line-km at 200 m line spacing, successfully detecting and mapping the conductive Alum Shale layer that hosts the Viken Deposit, and revealing nine new exploration target areas beyond the known resource. Notably, three targets exhibit stronger conductivity responses than the Viken Deposit itself, making them high-priority drill targets. A key advantage of MobileMT is its three orthogonal-component receiver, which provides high sensitivity to geoelectrical boundaries of any orientation, including subhorizontal layered sequences. This makes MobileMT particularly effective for mapping laterally extensive conductive units such as the mineralized Alum Shale. The success at Viken has already led to the next phase of regional exploration. Expert Geophysics has recently completed an additional 2,253 line-km MobileMT survey over District Metals’ broader 151,329-hectare Alum Shale Properties in central Sweden. The survey builds directly on the Viken results and is designed to identify additional Viken-style mineralized Alum Shale horizons and refine drill targets across the region. The Viken results demonstrate that MobileMT is more than an anomaly detection tool – it images mineral-system architecture on a district scale and in-depth, helping explorers identify new targets, prioritize drilling, and unlock the broader exploration potential of an entire mineral district.
